NAME - Matt Mendez

WHAT DO YOU WITH THE LEAGUE? - A couple years ago I became involved with board, I am responsible for making sure all the boxes on the field are stocked with first aid supplies.  I also ensure AEDs are functioning.

KIDS IN THE LEAGUE? - I have 2 boys that are 17 and 11 years old. I started off helping out at practices and games with my oldest son in 2010. After that I became more involved and then managed my own teams all the way through MAJORS league with my oldest son.  I have been able to manage a team since Stars with my youngest. He will be in AAA this coming season.

Where did you grow up and where did you play ball? - I grew up in Des Plaines.  I played baseball at Central Little League in Des Plaines, which eventually turned into Des Plaines Youth Baseball.

Favorite baseball player? - : Tony Gwynn San Diego Padres. Played 20 years, only struck out 450 times!!!!

Why do you volunteer? - To be involved with my kids and pay it forward.  I have had some great coaches growing up. The best part is seeing these boys grow up and still calling me coach whenever they see me.
